QuickBooks Connect London 2018
QuickBooks Connect is an annual meetup organised by the world’s largest cloud accounting provider. This two-day event is focused both on small businesses and accountants. There’s an excellent selection of workshops and talks revolving around the accountant’s profession, FinTech, as well as managing a small business.

Accountex Summit North 2018
If you can’t make it to the London’s Accountex in May 2018 (see below), you may choose an alternative event in the form of Accountex Summit North.
It’s a one-day conference held in Manchester Central on 6 March 2018. The event will focus on the latest developments and issues facing today’s accountancy professionals. Attendants will participate in keynote talks, interactive sessions, and networking.

Journal of Accounting and Public Policy Conference 2018
This is an academic conference where you may expect less of a practical approach but a lot of inspiring discussions exploring finances and accounting topics. Some topics to be covered during the event include the cost of compliance, adherence to accounting standards, the impact of business complexity on accounting regulators, and whether or not the regulatory compliance becomes redundant today.

12th IPA Conference
While the Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting (IPA) Conference is more of an academic event compared to some entries on this list, it may prove an excellent source of inspiration for practitioners.
This accounting event is a well-established forum for research into the social, political and organisational aspects of accounting theory and practice. It brings accounting closer to other disciplines including anthropology, history, philosophy, sociology and political economy.

ICFA 2018: 20th International Conference on Finance and Accounting
Held at Wembley’s Holiday Inn hotel, the ICFA brings together researchers, academics, and practitioners in the accounting profession. The conference’s aim is to dig into the most recent trends, innovations, issues, and practical challenges in the fields of finance and accounting.

Xerocon London 2018

Bookkeepers Summit 2018
Organised by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, the Bookkeeper Summit was held last year in London over two days in October. The event explored how new opportunities open up for bookkeepers in the wake of cloud technologies and the Making Tax Digital initiative. Given the promising turnout last year, it will probably make sense to mark the date on your calendar for 2018 too.

Accounting Live 2018
Accounting is one of the major themes at The Scottish Business Exhibition, the most significant business show in Scotland. The World Congress of Accountants 2018
Organised for the 20th time, The World Congress of Accountants (WCoA) is an annual event held in Sydney, Australia, that brings together over 6,000 delegates from more than 130 countries to listen to world-class experts and leaders representing the finance and business communities.

QuickBooks Connect – San Jose, Sydney, Toronto

Xerocon – Melbourne and Austin
